In support of our charity, the Charlie Waller Trust, the committee works throughout the year to produce a show-stopping and sell-out event, attracting over 2000 people.

From Edinburgh to Exeter, up to 14 universities from across the UK attend our ball consisting of the largest black tie dinner in Scotland and a sell-out afterparty!

Taking place at Falside Mill, a converted barn nestled in the East Neuk of Fife, the Welly Ball evening begins with 900 dinner guests donning black tie and wellies for a drinks reception and seated dinner.

After the dinner. . . the afterparty begins!

Here, an additional 1,100 guests arrive for dancing and a variety of musical entertainment ranging from live bands to DJs, which extend into the early hours.

To conclude, this is a sell-out event not to be missed!

Welly Ball 2022 raised an incredible £33,000 for our charity, Charlie Waller Trust. Whilst the smooth running of the event is our primary focus throughout the year, supporting our charity is the ultimate goal, and we are honoured to work with them year after year.

Get ready to welly!

Welly Ball originated in 2007 following the university’s clay pigeon shooting competition, the St Andrews Challenge. To this day, the competition occurs every November and is the largest of its kind in the UK. Up to fourteen universities from across the country compete every year, with over 300 competitors shooting annually.
