The Welly Ball committee is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 committee. As the team behind Scotland’s largest black-tie dinner and one of St Andrews’ most anticipated events, we are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to help make this incredible night happen.

This is your chance to play a role in delivering an unforgettable night, all whilst raising money for the Charlie Waller Trust.

role descriptions

Front of House

Responsible for designing and executing the atmosphere and décor for our events. This includes overseeing flower arrangements, lighting, layout, and overall creative vision. Applicants must be able to coordinate with suppliers and bring a conceptual vision to life with strong attention to detail and organisation.


Sponsorship

Build and maintain relationships with the brand and corporate sponsors that bring Welly Ball to life. Develop compelling proposals that align with their goals, secure sponsorship agreements, and ensure successful partnerships. Strong communication and negotiation skills are key. Applicants should be proactive, organised, and available to coordinate outreach and sponsor communications over the summer.


Marketing & graphic design

In collaboration with the Media team, maintain and expand awareness of the Welly Ball brand throughout St Andrews and beyond. Work closely with the Sponsorship team to create a cohesive brand image, timeline, and advertising plan with sponsors. This role involves managing social media accounts and developing marketing strategies. Proficiency in graphic design is desirable. Applicants must submit a portfolio showcasing examples of their design work.


visual media

Assist the Marketing team in creating promotional material for Welly Ball and its launch events. We are looking for experienced photographers, ideally with a clear creative vision. Applicants with skills in other media forms, such as videography, are also encouraged to apply. Please attach a portfolio showcasing examples of your work.


Events

Oversee the planning and execution of all aspects of Welly Ball events. This includes organizing and booking vendors, managing event logistics, and ensuring smooth operations throughout. Strong communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills are essential for this role.


fundraising

plan and execute fundraising events that support welly ball. this role requires finding creative and engaging ways to raise money for the charlie waller trust. applicants should be proactive and organised. strong communication and people skills are necessary, as the role involves working with the sponsorship team and engaging with partners. fundraising experience isn’t required but beneficial.
